I took Maddie to visit Santa at my sister, Kim's realty office. I really thought this year was going to be different. Last year was a big crying mess like most kids. Hey, its our duty as parents to take our innocent babes and hand them over to a large bearded stranger, from which they take candy! Right? This year was better but at first she was still very timid and on the verge of tears upon seeing the Big Red Man.

We let her warm up a while in the snack room and got her good and sugared up. She had some pep talks from other kids. Then Kim walked her slowly to Santa.

She refused to sit in his lap but smiled and stood next to him with Auntie Kim as a buffer! ha!

She certainly was not afraid to take a giant foot long candy cane from him though. This cane would later be stuck in her hair, on her shirt, my car door. I think it has mysteriously dissappeared...hmmm...mysterious...

She did her duty and told Santa she wanted a Strawberry Shortcake house and a candy cane. That was all that was on her wish list. He said "you got it!" and smiles ensued. The End.
